Welcome to Year 6.  This is an important  year  as it’s the children’s  final chapter in their primary school experience!

In Year 6 there is a great focus on developing independent skills,  building resilience  and taking responsibility for our own learning in all subjects and to make sure the children feel prepared and ready to go to secondary school.  As well as working hard we will still have lots of fun.

In May, children sit their SATs, which is what we work towards alongside preparing them for transition. As of 2016 the SATs consist of the following:

 English

• SPaG – Spelling test
• SPaG – Punctuation and Grammar short answers test
• Reading test

Maths

• Paper 1 – Arithmetic
• Paper 2 – Mathematical Reasoning
• Paper 3 – Mathematical Reasoning

The tests will be split over 4 days during SATs week.

Remember, Year 6 is not just about SATs, we make sure children have a broad and balanced curriculum with lots of fun and engaging activities, including a trip to London.
