Wellbeing Award

Wellbeing Award in Schools (WAS)

At South Bank Primary School we are proud to share that we have been successful in achieving the Wellbeing Award for Schools 2022 to 2025 The award will show our dedication and commitment to improving the wellbeing and mental health of all our school community, including pupils, families and staff.

‘Mental health is defined as a state of wellbeing in which every individual recognises his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and is able to make a contribution to his or her own community.’   World Health Organisation, March 2018

We believe that mental health is just as important as physical health and is all our responsibility to look after each other and ourselves.

Our aim is to give our pupils, families and staff as much support as possible helping them to stay mentally healthy.

  • We are responsive and flexible to everyone's needs.
  • They feel safe and are able to express how they are feeling without being judged.
  • There is no stigma surrounding mental health and wellbeing in our school community.
  • We actively acknowledge that 'it's okay not to be okay' all of the time.

We have achieved this award for the work we have already done so far and will help us to further develop the work we already do to promote positive mental health and wellbeing for the whole school community.
